Family Session at Deception Pass State Park

This family + this park = serious swoon status!  Kara and I met through the I Carry Your Heart Blog and I am a big fan of her work and how she captures families (seriously, go check out her stuff HERE).  Naturally, I was thrilled when she asked me to capture her family in one of their favorite places.  If I lived any closer to Deception Pass, I would probably shoot there ALL.THE.TIME and I would want to hang with Kara and her fam all the time too because they are truly an awesome bunch. I was a little nervous when I delivered this gallery because this shoot didn't go anything like I expected and this may have been the first time I completely ran out of daylight for a session. Let's just say we were having a little too much fun on the north end of the park while waiting for the sun to rest a bit lower in the sky and managed to miss the sunset entirely by the time we walked back to the other side. Oops!  Fortunately, I'm a big fan of shooting after sunset and I absolutely love how the soft light wrapped around this beautiful family.  If it wasn't so darn cold and windy on the beach after the sun went down, we probably would have ended up with at least 100 more images of these guys.  Here are a few of my favorites from our time together.
