Wedding at Crockett Farm // Whidbey Island, WA
If I could pick just one word to describe Sarah and James' wedding day, it would be FUN! Sarah and James currently live in Colorado, but returned home to tie the knot in the presence of their families and close friends at the Historic Crockett Farm on Whidbey Island. It was a day full of celebration, love, and tons of laughter. I'm pretty sure they had smiles on their faces the entire day and their joy was truly contagious. While the girls got ready at a little cottage on the beach, the boys got ready with James' family on the other side of town. Sarah had a first look with her Dad at the beach house and then we met the rest of the party at the venue just in time for the ceremony, where James saw Sarah for the first time. Sarah had warned me that the ceremony (officiated by her cousin, Luke) was going to be short and sweet and I actually think it may have been the shortest ceremony in the history of ceremonies, which was actually quite perfect because we were able to spend the rest of the afternoon/evening doing all the fun wedding things (ie toasting, dancing, eating cake, celebrating and taking photos). We even managed to sneak away for some photos at the beach just as the sun was setting and it was not only a great time for photos, but gave Sarah and James the space to be alone for a little bit. I know I haven't done a very good job of blogging this year, but I decided to blog this wedding because I wanted to give Sarah and James a little more than their slideshow and also show others how the simple acts of going with the flow, having fun, and putting together a thoughtful and flexible schedule can make a huge difference in your photos. Here are some of the folks that made this day special for Sarah and James along with some of my favorite photos from their wedding day.
