Traveling Gypsy Dress by Reclamation // Granite Falls, WA
The Traveling Gypsy Dress Project was started by my friend, Danielle Navratil. If you want to get a little more background on the project or sign up, you can find more information HERE. She sent this dress by Reclamation home with me after our retreat in Joshua Tree and I really wanted to put together a PNW style shoot before sending it off on its 7 month adventure across the country. I had this idea in my head for a little bit, but wasn’t sure how realistic it was for this time of year or if it would even come together like I had envisioned. Needless to say, I was absolutely thrilled when Leah and Ian were on board AND Ian got his new motorcycle just in time for the shoot. I had a location in mind just off the Mountain Loop Highway; however, we ran into a few hiccups once we got out there. It actually took us a lot more time to find our spot and get ready for this shoot than it did to actually take these photos. It started to sprinkle that afternoon, there was still snow on the ground, and there was a serious car accident that was blocking the highway. We managed to find a safe spot along the side of the road and snap a few photos just before we lost light. I was grateful we were able to pull this mini session off and I was able to get the dress dry cleaned just in time to send it off to Huntington Beach. Excited to see all of the other magic that will be created with this dress this year!
